School and Summer Parenting Time and Child Support Policy in Kent County

The Kent County Family Division of the Circuit Court issued a policy on April 9, 2020 stating that with in-person K-12 school suspended, parenting time and child support orders in Kent County will be consistently interpreted as follows:

School/Summer Parenting Time

For the purpose of school year and summer parenting time, the school year will continue through the original date that the child’s school would have ended under the school district’s calendar.

Uniform Child Support Orders

For the purpose of a child support order, any child who is a senior in high school for the 2019-2020 school year and was attending school full time prior to March 10, 2020 will be considered to have been attending high school through the originally scheduled graduation date set by the school district.
